Updates/News

11.22.20

Excited to share an overview video of the project with technical details and where we are. We put this together for #APSDFD2020 but we cover all aspects of the project in a quick 1/2hr review.

11.11.20

Very excited to share update on fully functional HFNC setup getting ready for clinical validation. Incredible team work from all partners has led to a point where we are ready to finish all the unit tests and move towards clinical validation. Enjoy the video; fruits of labor of so many months - all in a short little clip. When we all come together with a purpose and a common cause, almost anything is possible.

10.19.20

So much has been happening on all fronts; we have had little time to share updates here. It is an exciting moment as the final Pufferfish units including the HFNC software is ready to move to biomedical departments. This will be the first four units that will go to clinical partners in Nepal, India, Kenya and Bangladesh. We will try to update more regularly.

The final units for testing are being assembled currently at Bharat Forge, India. Here is a quick run through of the pneumatic circuits in it’s almost final shape by Moonish’s team with Jagdish running a quick walk through. It’s the attention to detail that defines this project - so thrilled to have partners with a common vision.

8.22.20

The power electronics team led by Deepak has been pushing on getting the power boards finalized. A crucial test for the final power boards needed to have wall to battery transition and vice/versa (hot plug/unplug) to be tested. The excitement is palpable!

8.20.20

The UI/UX and the software team have almost integrated the first interface code running on Raspberry Pi; with all the core functionality in place. Exciting moment to finally see the interface in all its glory. Kudos to UI/UX and Software team - and off course Ethan.

8.11.20

The quick-guide for the ventilator is shaping quickly. Just a glimpse of features and interface for the v1.0 design. Amazing work Elizabeth and user manual design team.

Pufferfish-Kenya team tests Pufferfish prototype on a battery powered system capable of running the mechanical ventilators for 2 days continuously. This is crucial with power block-outs being common around the world. What is exciting is that the unit is also capable of being charged with solar panels!

Pufferfish-Nepal breadthing for the first time. It is incredibly inspiring with global efforts bearing fruits with Pufferfish coming online at multiple locations simultaneously. Also, after a long night at the work-bench - when all of us need that extra bit of inspiration and fresh air - we all look at the mountains right outside.

7.14.20

Hot-replug tests at Stanford where battery initially powering the ventilator when it is plugged into the power supply. Another big milestone from power supply team.
